When we get together, our conversation will be all about you and your family’s needs. You may be curious about the personal story of your financial and real estate professional. Please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Shenice Brown. I am extremely passionate about helping others protect, build, and grow wealth! This may start with a home purchase, permanent life insurance policy or retirement income planning. I love to provide financial education and show clients their options for protection and financial wellness!
A little about me; I was born in Kingston, Jamaica. At the age of six, my family moved to Queens, NY. Growing up in NY gave me access to a melting pot of diversity, knowledge, and experiences. Of course, growing up there did not come without its challenges.
Being that we were immigrants moving to one of the most expensive cities in the United States, this did not make things easy for us. Our household was always filled with financial turmoil. It was our “normal” to live with extended family and working multiple jobs just to make ends meet. And beyond making ends meet, we had to band together to be there for one another.
My grandmother passed away at the young age of 51 after years of battling ovarian and breast cancer. My aunt also recently went through the same ovarian cancer battle and passed away at the young age of 52. Through their treatments, sickness, and even times of health, they were always surrounded by loved ones.
I began working at 15 years old. I knew that anything I wanted in life would not be handed to me, and I would have to work very hard to get there. That did not stop me from always setting my goals and aspirations high!
Halfway through high school, I moved to CT where I finished my diploma while being…well, pregnant. After getting kicked out of the house, I had to get an apartment and try my best to stay focused. I just kept working and going to school. And due to being pregnant, I wound up making the decision of turning down a full scholarship to an out of state university.
I began my first semester of college VERY pregnant while working 2-3 jobs at a time. At that point in time, I was working on my Bachelor’s degree and working for OfficeMax, Burger King, and Build-A-Bear. After I had my sweet, brilliant daughter, Rayne, I just continued on with work and school except I exchanged my job at Burger King for one at Cheesecake Factory (pretty big upgrade).
You might be wondering, “How in the world did this girl get to Texas?” Well, I am a very driven, ambitious individual and in everything that I do, I strive to do it excellently. At some point, I made the CRAZY decision to just have one full time job when the opportunity presented itself with Microsoft. I started from the “bottom” and was promoted to a Trainer for the store within six months. My next promotion to a management position is what brought me here. I was awarded the position, and they packed me up and moved me to Houston, TX.
This promotion and move to TX was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made. This move to TX meant being away from my daughter, but building the life and resources that I wanted to create for her. Despite the distance, I make the best out of every moment I spend with Rayne, and I know that I am working hard and building for her!
My career continued to progress when I made the move to HP Inc. as a Project Manager. While working for HP, I accomplished completing my Master’s degree in Human Resources Management.
In early 2018, I made the decision to leave my position at HP (for family reasons), and leaving this corporate job is what has enabled me to pursue my financial wellness and real estate careers full time.
Aside from my career, you can probably tell that I am so passionate about family! My daughter and family are my WHY. They are my WHY for working hard, they are my strength and my life. I want to change our circumstances, defy the odds, and pave the path to creating generational wealth.
I am also devoted to giving back through volunteer and charity work, spreading knowledge, and helping others. While I create, protect, and build wealth, I am determined to help others do the same. I believe that no matter the odds, no matter the obstacles, each and every one of us has the chance to create the life that we dream of living!
I hope this letter has given you some insight into my life and why I’m so passionate about helping my clients! I want to make an impact on as many people as possible. I genuinely want to help others achieve their life goals. I look forward to meeting and serving you; it is my honor to help in any way possible!
Yours truly,
Shenice Brown
