Derek had his run playing drums professionally, recording albums, and going on tours; but ultimately Derek followed the beat of his heart of service (and his love of houses) into real estate. Derek is warm, caring and trustworthy; exactly who you want by your side during one of the biggest transactions of your life. He grew up in Austin’s now well-known South Congress district, and was raised around the construction industry; which enabled him to experience home building, remodels, roofing, and everything involved in the building process from a young age. His mother also worked in the title business. For the past 18 years, he has been applying that knowledge, along with his experience in financial planning, and his deep-rooted love for Austin to successfully help people buy and sell their homes. His clients’ testimonials speak for themselves; his strong suit is exceptional customer service. He is patient with his clients and proactive with the market -- part financial planner, often part therapist. While he is all about market statistics, he also loves the intangible qualities that really make a house a home. He still still plays drums in a band for fun, and loves spending time with his family in South Austin.
