Umar is deeply connected to Austin since 2001. He has an effective combination of Southern charm and international tenacity. Umar chose Austin to be his permanent home after falling in love with the weird live musical city that has small town hospitality. Giving back to others, Umar involves himself in mission work and has traveled to the poorest parts of Asia. Umar has rebuilt houses in poor villages, provided economical solar power to villagers powering light bulbs, and worked with orphanages teaching them basic English. His projects have included East Austin rehab flips, new land construction in Volente, affordable housing, condo projects, residential solar power, and home energy efficiency rehabilitations.

Umar graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in IT and Economics. He has lived in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Canada, Pennsylvania, California and Texas. Before becoming a Realtor, Umar worked in the computer software industry with companies such as CGI, Dell, and Apple, harnessing a strong background in technology. When he isn’t working, Umar loves to spend time with his wife, three kids and 2 cats.
